Custom PET shrink sleeve labels for bottle packaging

HY-021 is a PET shrink sleeve label solution for bottle-packaging projects. It is supplied in roll format and developed around the bottle profile, required artwork, shrink behaviour and sleeve-application process.

Shrink sleeves can provide a continuous printed label area around a bottle. The final result depends on the bottle shape, film orientation, sleeve dimensions, artwork layout and heat-shrink conditions.

Start with the bottle geometry

A sleeve label should be specified from the real bottle, not only its nominal volume. Shoulder shape, neck transition, taper, grip panels and base profile can affect sleeve dimensions, shrink distribution and final artwork appearance.

Please provide:

• Bottle sample or dimensioned bottle drawing
• Overall bottle height and body diameter
• Label coverage area and no-label zones
• Bottle material and end-use conditions
• Existing sleeve sample, if one is currently used

Specify shrink direction and artwork together

Confirm shrink direction, sleeve lay-flat width, cut length, overlap, seam position, print-safe areas, registration marks and barcode placement before finalizing artwork.

Milky white PET film is one possible finish. Confirm the required opacity, background effect and final artwork requirement before the film specification is approved.

Match the sleeve roll to the application line

Provide the sleeve-application and shrink-tunnel information so the roll format can be specified correctly:

• Roll width, outer diameter and core size
• Unwind direction and web orientation
• Seam position and sleeve cut length
• Manual, semi-automatic or automatic application method
• Steam or heat-shrink tunnel conditions
• Packaging and transport requirements

Validate the finished sleeve on the real bottle

Before production release, test the sleeve on representative bottles and the intended line. Review sleeve positioning, graphics after shrinking, barcode legibility, packing performance and the intended label-removal process where relevant.
